Come Junk With Us Giveaway!

Sue Whitney is a living doll. No, seriously, she IS.
We met her this weekend at RotP, chatting over dinner about our son's Maui wedding that night and her FABulous JunkMarketStyle web community. Then she stopped by our booth and we chatted some more, about shows and magazines and more fun stuff. She's on a whirlwind tour of shows across the country right now, sharing ideas for 'Junk Decor' and promoting her JunkMarket events.... tireless, I tell ya! Sistah is preachin' the gospel of Junk to the masses!

And then, at the end of a very busy day, she took time to sign one of her books for me AND get a photo taken - which is really sayin' something. I mean, she's gorgeous, but we all tend to wear down a bit on a hot show day. Just look at that smile on her! (Don't look at me, I blinked!) Thank you, Sue, for being such a giving person.
Yes, she signed THIS book.. with a personalized message for one of the lucky attendees of the Come Junk With Us Junk Junket to the Farm Chicks Show. Because we are donating it to Timi for her CJWU giveaways on the Junk Bus!
So, if you want a shot at this book and a slew of other perks, make sure you get your tickets {only three days left to do so!} and GET ON THE BUS {that's my version of Ty Pennington} to the Farm Chicks show!

Cue announcer voice:
Come Junk With Us is the Official Transportation Provider to the Farm Chicks Antique Show.

Enjoy a three-day all-inclusive charter bus trip to Spokane from Seattle, including hotel, food, snacks, swag bags, giveaways, two day entry to the Farm Chicks show, and exclusive perks for our bus riders: early entry into the show and admission to the private vendor-only party on Saturday night. Plus more!

Get your tickets before May 1 - visit www.comejunkwithus.com!

What a Show!

We had a WONDERFUL time at the Remnants of the Past Antique Show this weekend! What a pleasure to be in such good company, among new friends and so many beautiful treasures that it boggled the mind. We are so blessed to have been a part of Judy's incredible world.

Here are a few photos of our booth... more are on our Facebook Page!
Can you even imagine a more perfect setting for a show?! We can't!
{OK, well, except for our own farm!}

Showtime!

Today was set up day at the Remnants of the Past show in Nipomo, California... can you SEE the sunset reflected in the mirror above?
And let's talk about the orchards of LEMON trees, perfectly placed to add the perfect natural accent to our displays. And the fragrance of those blossoms.... oh, lawdy, I SWOON!
No, that unripe lemon is not a prop. That's where the branch ended up popping forward out of the tree behind the cash wrap. Incredible. I could not have planned it better myself!

This place is astounding... everywhere you turn, it's a photo op. And that's just the farm, barn, gardens and historic home. Add 50 of the best vendors we've ever SEEN and it's just eye candy everywhere. There was a fabulous dinner party this evening in the gardens. Photos of that next week!

It's been a long, busy day working in hot sun (YAY!) getting everything in our orchard-side booth just so. There are some very and I DO mean VERY special guests attending this show. {I can't tell you who they are because then I'd have to kill you. ;0) } OK, you know about the fabulous Sue Whitney of JunkMarket - SHE'S a VIP. And an absolute doll - we met her tonight at dinner. A couple of magazines. And... I heard to day that her highness will be in attendance. She's on a West Coast tour right now. She's very .... chic. Yes. That's all I can say. ;0)

And to top it ALL off, tonight at 8:30 PM, we watched our only son get married on a beach in Maui! Yes, via the wonders of the Internet, family participated via web cam as they said their vows and became husband and wife. We welcome our 'fourth daughter' with open arms and full hearts!

Yep, it's been a busy day... and things aren't about to slow down any time soon!!! We hope we get to see you at the show tomorrow!

Petite Retreat Special Guests!

A special announcement about our upcoming Spring Petite Retreat:
We are so pleased to share with you that our friends Julie and MaryBeth from Poppyseeds will be our special guests at our Spring event! They will be sharing their treasures with you here at Retreat Farm on Saturday, May 8 ONLY, so don't miss them!
We met Julie on our first trip out to the Island, when we just HAD to stop into a darling little shop, Poppyseeds, on the side of the highway through Stanwood. Ever since, we've been friends! Julie &  MaryBeth {cousins} have been wonderful about making us feel right at home in our new community. Within a month after moving here, we were renting a room in their shop and displaying our Retreat treasures, until January of this year.
The girls are constantly re-filling the rooms of this charming little cottage with wonderful finds & vintage style! Color is really their 'thing' - it's a happy place!
We've had a lot of fun doing special projects at their store, events, and flea markets both local and distant with them, over the past year and a half. Having them participate in our first little show is our chance to thank them for all they have done for us... we really are excited to share our friends and their business with you at our first vintage seasonal market.
So we invite you to bring along your love of color and whimsy when you come to our May event, because 'the Poppyseeds Girls' will have it in spades! Visit their blog to see more, and Follow them on Facebook, too!
